FIFA’s ethics committee has begun formal adjudicatory proceedings against a senior Qatari official for allegedly failing to cooperate with an investigation. The proceedings are not related to the 2022 World Cup.
Last month, an investigator from the committee recommended that Qatar Football Association (QFA) Vice Chairman Saoud Al Mohannadi be banned from the sport for at least two and a half years.
The official is now invited to submit documents related to the case and request a hearing, FIFA said.
