Motorists may want to continue avoiding the Civil Defense junction area for the time being as Ashghal announces yet another closure this weekend.

Starting tomorrow (Sept. 2) to Sunday, Sept. 4, part of Onaiza St. will be closed in both directions in and around the junction as crews continue working on installing an intersection there.

Commuters heading toward Civil Defense from the Ministry of Public Health will not be able to cross the junction and instead be diverted onto Mohamed Bin Thani St.

Meanwhile, those trying to approach Onaiza St. while coming from TV Roundabout will be diverted right onto Khalifa St.

Ashghal has previously said reconstruction of the new junction will wrap up by the end of September, though it appears to be trying to finish it sooner.
