From cheering on some of the world’s best cyclists to enjoying a movie in the park to shopping at an ethnic bazaar, there’s lots to do around town over the next few days. Here are our picks:
Ladies Tour of Qatar
An annual cycling race that pits some of the best female competitors in the world against each other is back again this year for its eight edition.
The Ladies Tour of Qatar began on Tuesday and runs in four stages over four days.
Today’s race will involve a route from the Sheikh Faisal Museum to the Al Khor Corniche, Thursday’s will be from the Al Zubarah Fort to Madinat Al Shamal and Friday’s final leg will start at the Aspire Zone and end at the Corniche.

QAWSÂ Quiz Night
Save a stray and boost your IQ with the Qatar Animal Welfare Society’s (QAWS) first Save-a-Stray Quiz Night of the year. Teams of six people or less are encouraged to attend the event tomorrow, Feb. 4, at the Doha Rugby Football Club.
Teams can register from 7:30pm onwards for a fee of QR50 per person, ahead of the event which begins at 8pm. Winners will recieve prizes, and spectators can sign up for a raffle draw.

Al Kaas Cup
The annual Al Kaas Cup is back this weekend for its fifth edition from Feb. 5 to 15 at the Aspire Academy outdoor football fields.
Watch as some of the best up-and-coming young footballers from elite academy teams like Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and SL Benfica compete in the annual under 17s tournament.
Held in collaboration with Al Kaas Sports Channels, the Aspire Zone Foundation and the Qatar Football Association, the event is free and open to the public. For more information and a detailed schedule of matches, visit the event’s Facebook page here, or its website here.
Chamber music at the MIA
Watch Syrian violinist MAias Alyamani perform a series of his best compositions at this week’s free Chamber Music event at the Museum of Islamic Art.
Supported by members of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, the event will be held tomorrow, Feb. 4, from 6pm onwards. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page here.
Pakistani bazaar
An Al Khor-based Pakistani community called Sahni Dharti is hosting a Pakistani-themed community bazaar on Friday, Feb. 5, from 2 to 7pm. The event will be held at the new football field near the Al Khor Hospital, and is free and open to the public.
Residents can browse through vendors selling Pakistani clothes, leather, home decor items and freshly imported produce. Local restaurants Zaoq and Zeeshan will also be selling Pakistani food to attendees. For more information, call 66084437 or 55204380.
Qatar International Rally
Watch as 15 of the best drivers from the region compete in this year’s Qatar International Rally from Feb. 4 to 6 at the QMMF Headquarters on Salwa Road.
The rally is divided into 13 stages, and covers a total distance of some 535.24km, and will include Qatar’s very own rally driver – Nasser bin Saleh Al Attiyah.
Tomorrow’s leg will begin from 7pm onwards, and will continue from 9am onwards on Friday at the Aqua Park, and from 8am onwards on Saturday at the same venue. For more information and a detailed schedule, see QMMF’s Facebook page or visit the event’s website here.

- Run for cancer: Join the Qatar Cancer Society as they raise awareness for GCC Cancer Week at a Corniche-side run on Saturday, Feb. 6. The event is free for all, will begin at 10am at the main entrance of the MIA Park and end at the Sheraton Park on the other side of the Corniche. - Cinema in the park: Bundle up and head out to Aspire Park for a weekend of family-friendly movies. Held in collaboration with the Aspire Zone Foundation and Jeem TV, the event will be held every Thursday and Friday from 6 to 8pm behind Hyatt Plaza. Comfortable chairs will be available, according to organizers.
